A Destination for Sailors & Power-Boaters​
​
The Loch Lomond Yacht Club is a destination for sailors and power-boaters. We are a small pocket harbor in a serene and beautiful area nestled between historic China Camp and Mt. Tamalpais.We welcome visits by other yacht clubs. If you plan to cruise-in, please check the tide chart and navigation pages thoroughly. The channel is narrow and the directions must be followed exactly.Visiting yachts stern-to just off the Loch Lomond Yacht Club Deck. The newly replaced dock in front of the club is 107 feet in length and the side docks offer 70 feet and 35 feet of space. There are 30 amp power posts and water is available.

Fees & Contact Details

​Dock Fees are $35 per night per boat and can be paid directly to Safe Harbor Marina (SHM) Loch Lomond.
There is a $25 gate key deposit, which will be refunded upon return of key.

Parking at LLYC
​​
Parking is available, but limited within the Strand Development. The western lot is now open. It has a number of individual vehicle spaces as well as a number of boat trailer spaces. Please refrain from parking in the boat trailer spaces during the day. They can be used in the in the evening when there are no vehicles there. Please do not park in Andy’s Market lot.
Approaching by Boat
Approaching from the South Bay

​Pass under the Richmond-San Rafael bridge sailing due north. Be careful of a number of barges and large metal buoys scattered around.

Head for Green Channel Marker No. 17, Fl. G. 4S. 15Ft 6M, coordinates 37o 57'425 N. 122o 27' 421 W. This is the entrance to the San Rafael Canal which is dredged to 6' MLLW, (2002) is approximately 30 feet wide. The channel runs on a course of 280° Magnetic and is marked by green channel markers, which are numbered 1-7.

Caution ... Keep the Green channel markers to the Port side of your boat, as there are no “red, right, return” channel markers.

Pass marker #3 and just before #5 turn right into our entrance channel, which has big Pilings on both Port and Starboard.
Approaching from the North Bay

​Follow the San Pablo Strait going southwest. Pass between the Sisters and Brothers islands situated respectively outside Point San Pedro to the west and Point San Pablo to the east. Be aware of a large number of barges and metal Buoys scattered in the San Rafael Bay which is very shallow.

In the Channel: Please Observe

Do Not Cut Corners as the waters outside the markers are deceptive and shallow. - Green Marker 17, is very small, in spite of the claim on its character (6M), that should be visible for 6 miles. It is usually hidden amongst all the barges and buoys. Use your GPS or chart plotter to find it. - Green Marker 17 at the center. Chart No. 18649.

The Safe Harbor Marina Loch Lomond Yacht Club GUEST DOCK
The guest dock extends 103 feet in front of the yacht club, then 70 feet down the main dock (east) and then along the short finger 35 feet (south). Boats can stern-tie along the two longer docks (see photos) or side-tie.

From the North ​

Take Hwy 101 South toward San Francisco.

Take Exit 452 Central San Rafael, merging onto Hetherton St.

Turn left at 2nd Street. Continue and merge onto 3rd Street. Continue and merge onto San Pedro Road.

Turn right at Loch Lomond Drive.

Proceed to the water's edge to the right of A Dock.
From the South
