                    A Destination for Sailors & Power-Boaters​

 

 

The Loch Lomond Yacht Club is a destination for sailors and power-boaters.  We are a small pocket harbor in a serene and beautiful area nestled between historic China Camp and Mt. Tamalpais.We welcome visits by other yacht clubs.  If you plan to cruise-in, please check the tide chart and navigation pages thoroughly. The channel is narrow and the directions must be followed exactly.Visiting yachts stern-to just off the Loch Lomond Yacht Club Deck. The dock in front of the club is 107 feet in length and the side docks offer 70 feet and 35 feet of space. There are 30 amp power posts and water is available.

                  Events & Hospitality

 

We have a variety of club events that occur regularly. Check the "Events" tabs to see upcoming dinners, events, and menus. Arrive on a Friday night and take advantage of our Happy Hour at 6:00 pm and Happy Hour Dinner at 7:30 pm. Check to see what Saturday Events are planned for the dates you will arrive. These Club Event nights feature cocktails at 6:00 pm and either hors d'oeuvres or dinner at 7:30 PM. ​​​With great food, a well-stocked bar, fun-loving people and a beautiful setting, any weekend can be a great one!

                    Fees & Contact Details

Dock Fees are $25 per night per boat and can be paid directly to Safe Harbor Marina (SHM) Loch Lomond.

There is a $25 gate key deposit, which will be refunded upon return of key.

                    Parking at LLYC

 

 

Parking is available, but limited within the Strand Development. The western lot is now open. It has a number of individual vehicle spaces as well as a number of boat trailer spaces. Please refrain from parking in the boat trailer spaces during the day. They can be used in the in the evening when there are no vehicles there. Please do not park in Andy’s Market lot.

                   Approaching by Boat

 

 

Approaching from the South Bay 

  1. Heading north, pass under the Richmond - San Rafael Bridge.

  2. Head for green dolphin number 17, FL G 4 S, 15 ft., L. 37° 57.425°N 122° 27.421°W

  3. Enter the San Rafael Canal heading 279°M

  4. On entering keep green dolphin markers, numbers 1 and 3, to port. Sighting the markers ahead and behind, and stem the wind/current as needed.

  5. Do not pass the dolphins close aboard. Stay off about 40 feet where the channel is dredged for a 60 foot width.

  6. Just before dolphin 5 the "Dog Leg" will branch off to starboard. It is clearly marked by pilings and has a slight bend to port. 8. Turn after you can sight straight down the dog leg channel. Do not cut the turn short as the bottom shoals slightly in the "V". 7. Loch Lomond Marina entrance is marked by a set of pilings to port and starboard.

 

Approaching from the North Bay

  1. ​Pass thru San Pablo Straight heading SW

  2. Head for green dolphin number 17, FL G 4 S, 15 ft., L 37° 57.425°N 122° 27.421°W

The Loch Lomond Yacht Club GUEST DOCK

The guest dock extends 103 feet in front of the yacht club, then 70 feet down the main dock (east) and then along the short finger 35 feet (south). Boats can stern-tie along the two longer docks (see photos) or side-tie.

From the North ​

  1. Take Hwy 101 South toward San Francisco.

  2. Take Exit 452 Central San Rafael, merging onto Hetherton St.

  3. Turn left at 2nd Street. Continue and merge onto 3rd Street. Continue and merge onto San Pedro Road.

  4. Turn right at Loch Lomond Drive.

  5. Proceed to the water's edge to the right of A Dock. 

 

From the South

  1. Take Hwy 101 North toward San Rafael.

  2. Take Exit 452 Central San Rafael. Turn right at 2nd Street. ​Continue and merge onto 3rd Street. Continue and merge onto San Pedro Road.

  3. Turn right at Loch Lomond Drive

  4. Proceed to the water's edge to the right of A Dock.
